Womens History Month: Meet Co-Founder, Maribel Ramirez

About Maribel Ramirez: 

Maribel’s professional experience can be easily summarized by a basic statement: she loves to help people. Therefore the consistent denominator in her career is customer satisfaction. Over 30 years of experience in the hospitality field focused on the areas of business development, reorganization, strategic alliances, and sales. With a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University, Maribel’s business savvy results from years of entrepreneurial activity as the founder of a variety of businesses. From leading the travel management of large corporate entities which required extensive negotiations with airline carriers and hotel chains to the management of large conferences and to managing trade associations. The trajectory of Maribel’s career has enabled her to fine-tune a variety of skills in relationship building, market reach analysis, operations management, and marketing. Maribel enjoys spending her free time with her husband and her two amazing children. In her free time, she enjoys travel, reading, art, personal development and taking part in activities with her friends and co-workers.

What is your favorite part of your job? I really like creating a memorable experience for the guests, seeing the smiles on their faces and hearing the nice job, best event ever comments are absolutely wonderful! 

What is the most difficult part of your job? The final weeks leading up to the event, everyone is stressed and short on time and patience.  This is usually when lots of unforeseen problems and requests tend to pop up.

What was your motivation for founding Cor-Events?  My motivation was expanding my business into another area of hospitality.  I had been doing corporate travel and incentives for a while and felt it was the right fit to compliment my business

What advice would you give to other women entrepreneurs in the event space? Wear comfortable shoes!  I never did ! You must be service oriented and have a LOT of patience 🙂
